I have been on medical leave from my job since my cancer treatments started, but am still technically employed there. I have decided not to return to my current job because I need a less stressful change. Currently my resume says: "place of work 2013-current"
Is this acceptable even though I have been on a medical leave, but still technically employed? If not, what is the proper way to right a resume regarding this? Although it is a gap, it is not a complete gap because I am still employed. I went on an interview and did not mention it or the cancer at all, and am feeling weird about it. These are really tough uncharted waters for me, and it is so difficult to know what is right and wrong.

Hi Oliver, I appreciate that you feel uncomfortable because leaving "to Present" on your resume feels a little dishonest. However, this is a time when a technicality matters.
You are still employed so as long as you are, just leave it as it is on your resume. If and when you separate from your company voluntarily or not, then just change it to 2015.
Generally it isn't ideal to mention cancer at all however at Cancer and Careers, we tell people to say what makes them most comfortable. And we know that whatever is bothering you is never as large of an issue as it feels to you.
