A: If the reimbursement process poses a financial hardship, please let us know by calling Sissy Silva, Program Coordinator, at 646-929-8040 with some background on your situation, and we will assess whether we can pay vendors directly.
Q: Do I need to register for the Conference?
A: No. In applying for a scholarship you have, by extension, registered for the Conference as well. So, you’re all set!

A: Absolutely! Just let us know that is your preference and we’ll make sure it is used anonymously.
Q: I cannot find train/bus/airfare or lodging for the amount I was awarded; what should I do?
A: If you cannot find fares or accommodations within your award amount and this creates a financial hardship, please email cancerandcareers@cew.org before making any purchases.
Q: Can I extend my stay in Chicago?
A: You are welcome to extend your stay in Chicago. However, should you choose to do so, Cancer and Careers will reimburse only for eligible travel and/or lodging expenses up to the award amount stated in your offer letter.
Q: Can I bring someone with me to Chicago?
A: Yes; you are welcome to bring a guest(s), provided they cover their own travel expenses. If your guest(s) plans to attend the Conference with you, he/she will need to pre-register for the event.
Q: Do I also need to complete the general registration form?
A: No. All scholarship applicants are automatically added to our registration list internally. If you do not receive a scholarship award, we will reach out to see if you will be joining us. However, any additional guests who were not awarded a scholarship must pre-register.
