While you may not recognize actor Rob Paulsen's face, you will certainly recognize his voice. The veteran voice actor has worked for decades and contributed to over 2,500 episodes of animated series. In 2016, a cancer diagnosis threatened his most prized possession, his voice. With a diagnosis of throat cancer, Paulsen received radiation, chemotherapy, and lost over 50 pounds. 

Luckily, doctors were able to spare his vocal cords and he's able to contribute the important  squeals, shouts, and singing to his multiple cartoon characters. When asked about how he faced down a diagnosis so directly impacting his work, Paulsen replied, "I never once had a moment where I said 'Oh, no, I'm a voice actor. Why me?' It's not because I'm super brave. It's because I've had the incredible good fortune, as a result of my career, to speak to hundreds of children and their parents as the character that a little boy or girl is a fan of while they're going through treatment for illness...I'm so grateful to have that opportunity."
